It’s impossible to be grateful without grief
“You see it in people, in you, in me. The ungrateful strut, the constant pacing, the foot-tapping, the American Entitlement, the me-mine-me syndrome, the annoyed breathing, the exasperated sigh, confusing rights with privileges, rushing everything, patient for nothing, spoiled rotten but believing I deserve this, no sympathy for the impoverished, prejudiced against the poor, lack of discipline, criticizing other people’s lack of discipline, a scrunched up face, a pouty sour-lemon mouth, the eye-rolling, bursts of anger like a light switch, unstable and volatile emotions, no consideration, a life consuming and never giving. If you don’t know life is a gift, you’ll never quite live. Be thankful.”
